Fixed voice, broadband and TV forecasts

As mobile markets have matured, the telecoms industry has witnessed a wave of consolidation, as operators seek economies of scale and new growth opportunities. The knock-on impact on fixed-line telecoms has been considerable. M&A and the launch of new fixed-line services from historically mobile-only operators have created a new playing field in many markets and established the converged fixed and mobile operator as the increasingly dominant operating model. This changing competitive dynamic has created new challenges and opportunities for those active in fixed-line markets.

Our new fixed voice, broadband and TV datasets, available in a detailed Excel file, provide granular operator-level data, in a similar format to our existing mobile market coverage, with quarterly data available from Q1 2010. Our fixed-line telecoms data now extends to 25 of the largest markets globally (equating to more than 80% of global broadband connections) across a wide range of reported metrics, including connections, technology splits of broadband and pay TV, bundling and financials. In addition we provide market-level outlooks, via a five-year forecast, of key technologies, and historical modelled connections estimates at an operator-level. The accompanying report outlines these new datasets, the key questions we’re looking to help you tackle, and our product roadmap.
