Definitive data and analysis for the mobile industry
5G Connectivity Index
At the end of 2023, the total number of 5G connections globally surpassed 1.5 billion.
As the fastest growing mobile technology to date, it is projected to contribute almost $1 trillion
to the global economy by 2030, enabling transformative use cases for consumers and businesses.
GSMA Intelligence has launched the 5G Connectivity Index to help enable increased 5G mobile
network coverage, adoption, and usage. It currently measures the performance of 39 markets against
the key outcomes for 5G infrastructure and services. The Index provides a data-driven approach for
decision-making, enables comparative analysis and encourages universal access to 5G connectivity.
Performance on the Index is scored within a range of 0 to 100 across a number of indicators,
with a higher score representing stronger performance in delivering 5G connectivity. This web tool
allows you to explore the data used in the 5G Connectivity Index, and to compare markets across a
range of metrics. You can also access the accompanying State of 5G Report and download the Index data.
